It rained all night, but that didn't dampen the spirits of Jim's fantastic volunteers!  An enthusiastic group gathered at the 175 Main Street, New Rochelle Headquarters to make phone calls.  Other volunteers diligently filled out their "Do Me A Favor" cards (about 400 tonight alone!).  Don't miss out on the fun -- volunteer a few nights for Jim Maisano for Justice! Jim won the official endorsements of several important law enforcement groups.  The Affiliated Police Associations of Westchester, the Police Association of New Rochelle, and the Westchester County Police Benevolent Association (PBA) have all given their backing to Jim citing his longstanding record of leadership on law enforcement issues and commitment to dispensing fair and impartial justice.  They join the growing list of organizations and community leaders who have announced their support of Maisano.  He was previously endorsed by the Westchester Hispanic Law Enforcement Association.

Robert Caralyus, President of the Affiliated Police Associations of Westchester said that the organization’s selection of Maisano was an easy one to make.  “Jim Maisano’s record -- as an attorney, a United States Marine veteran, and as a leader for over 13 years in the Westchester County Legislature -- is the experience we need on the bench.”  Caralyus continued, “Jim has been the right kind of leader in Westchester and he’ll be the right kind of judge – smart, hardworking, and just.”

Citing Jim’s legal and legislative experience, proven leadership ability and sensible judicial philosophy, former Governor George Pataki endorsed Jim's bid for the New York State Supreme Court. “I’m pleased to endorse Jim Maisano for the Supreme Court.  As a Marine, attorney and legislator, Jim has served our country and our state with thoughtful and effective leadership.”  Governor Pataki continued, “Jim is exactly the kind of justice we need – qualified, independent and experienced in dealing with complex issues.  He will be led by a judicial philosophy that understands the proper role of the courts and the principles set forth in the law and our Constitution.  I encourage everyone to vote for Jim Maisano on Election Day.”

The Independence Party hosted its judicial nominating convention at Westchester Manor House in Yonkers. Jim was thrilled to receive the Independence Party endorsement!  The Independence Party supported Jim in every election since 1995.  This means that people can vote for Jim on one of three lines on November 2nd -- Republican, Conservative or Independence. Sounds like a winning combination!

Sunday was the 14th Maisano Family BBQ. It started in the backyard at Jim’s parent’s  house in 1995. Over the years, the event has grown to be a favorite among his friends and supporters.  This year was another great event with lots of laughs, great food and warm wishes for Jim and for all the other candidates who stopped by to say hello. Too many events, too little time. That seems to be the theme of Jim’s days.  Saturday was no exception.  First, he attended the Conservative Party convention where he was proud to receive their endorsement (for those who are counting at home, this puts Jim on two lines on the ballot in November – and hoping for more!). Buoyed by the nomination, Jim headed to the East Fishkill Fire Department Chili Cook-off, which was one great event!  Jim loves being half Irish (his mother’s maiden name is Considine), and he attended the Hudson Valley Irish Festival in Peekskill.  That night, he attended the fund raiser for Pelham Manor House in Pelham Manor (photo below).  Jim has represented the Pelhams on the Board of Legislators for the past 13 years.  

On Sept. 21, Jim visited a Kosher supermarket in Monsey, Rockland County and meet shoppers who were grabbing a few items prior to Sukkot. On Sept. 23, Jim met with the Westchester County Bar Association Judicial Screening Committee. He left the meeting very motivated and proud of his 18-year career as a litigator.  That night, it was off to the Crowne Plaza in White Plains for the Republican judicial nomination convention, where Jim was officially nominated as a candidate for Supreme Court (yeah!). This was a “kitchen sink” kind of day, where it seemed
that Jim did just about everything that a candidate has to do in an election.  Interview with Conservative Party delegates in Dutchess (check); meet voters at the Pleasant Valley Community Day & Parade, also in Dutchess (check); attend the GOP pig roast
in Poughkeepsie (check); put up lawn signs all over Dutchess & Westchester(check). Whew! What a day.
